Jocasta is an even-tempered, calm yearling who often gets overlooked, due to her easygoing (to be understood as non-attention-seeking) behavior. She is very long bodied and displays good body capacity for such a young doe, so we are hopeful that she’s inherited her dam’s admirable qualities. We can also see improvement in the areas of her dam’s weaknesses – specifically, strength of front pasterns and chine, in addition to better front leg placement. Jocasta is as close to a complete outcross as one can be in the Nigerian Dwarf genepool, which gives us lots of options for future pairings.

Jocasta’s first freshening udder shows the strong lateral attachments we are coming to expect out of our Uke daughters. She also seems to have inherited her dam’s well extended, smooth foreudder and soft texture. Her medial is strong with good division between halves. Future pairings will seek to improve on her teat placement, which is wider than ideal.
